Getting Started
From download to your first analysis in under 5 minutes.
1. Download SimTelemetry
Grab the desktop app from the download page. Available for Windows. Mac and Linux coming soon.
Install it, open it up — no account needed. You're ready to go.
2. Record your sessions
Launch your sim (Assetto Corsa or Le Mans Ultimate), then start a session. SimTelemetry auto-detects the sim and begins recording at 60Hz.
What it captures: speed, throttle, brake, steering angle, gear, RPM, position on track — everything you need to analyze your driving.
Sessions are saved locally as files on your machine. No internet required.
3. Analyze with the local viewer
Once you finish a session, open it in the built-in local viewer. You get:
- Lap times and sector breakdowns
- Telemetry charts — speed, throttle, brake, steering overlaid per lap
- Track map with your actual driving line
- Delta comparison between any two laps
- Best lap highlighting
All of this runs locally. No cloud, no account, no upload needed.
4. Optionally sync to the cloud
Want AI analysis or community features? Create a free account and upload specific laps you choose.
- You control what gets uploaded — only the laps you select are sent to the cloud
- Uploaded laps can be browsed via the web app from any device
- Cloud sync is entirely optional — SimTelemetry works fully offline
5. Get AI insights
Once a lap is uploaded, you can run AI analysis on it. The AI reads your telemetry and tells you:
- Where you're losing time and why
- Braking point issues, throttle lift, racing line problems
- Corner-by-corner suggestions
You can also ask follow-up questions in the AI chat — "Should I trail brake more into T3?"
6. Compare with the community
Upload your best laps publicly and see how you stack up on the community leaderboard. Compare your telemetry against faster drivers and learn from their data.
You can make laps public or private — your choice. Public laps appear on the community board for others to compare against.
